Our family's story
My name is Eyad Ghareeb. I am 55 and live in northern Gaza with my wife Maha (50), our son Kareem (18), our daughter Reem (16), and my elderly mother (80). Our family home was destroyed, and we have been displaced dozens of times in search of safety. We now live in a tent that offers little protection from winter cold or summer heat.
My mother lives with diabetes, high blood pressure, and difficulties with her vision, hearing and mobility. She needs ongoing care. My son Kareem has undergone several surgeries for problems affecting his back and shoulders, yet he still dreams of studying engineering. As the family's provider, I struggle to cover food, healthcare, shelter and education.
